About the Building

About Cento

Cento is a six-storey mixed-use building going up at the corner of Mount Newton Cross Road and Wallace Drive in Saanichton village, in the District of Central Saanich. It is marketed at 1932 Mount Newton Cross Road, while the individual condos are listed on MLS at 7815 Wallace Drive. Commercial space takes the ground floor, and 28 homes fill the five floors above it.

Vidalin Group, which describes itself as a builder-developer with more than 55 years of experience, is both developing and building Cento. The project website credits Alan Lowe Architect with the architecture, Skyline Engineering with the structural engineering and Spaciz Design Company with the interiors.

Some MLS records give a year built of 2025 or 2026, but the building is not finished. Listings posted in August 2026 said construction was underway and gave an expected completion of spring 2027, and the developer's website still says the homes are now selling. Treat the year built as a target and confirm the schedule with the developer.

Expected Spring 2027

MLS listing remarks from August 2026 said construction was underway and put completion in spring 2027.

The Cento Building in Saanichton Village

With no more than seven homes on any floor, Cento is a small building where you share hallways with only a handful of neighbours. Building features named by the developer include secure underground parking with EV charging stations and EV-ready stalls, keyless fob entry, motion-sensor lighting, smart visitor screening and secure bike storage.

MLS listings also mention a separate storage locker and in-suite laundry for the homes they describe. The website does not list shared amenity rooms such as a gym or lounge, so do not assume Cento has them.

Cento Floor Plans and Finishes

The plans are one- and two-bedroom homes, with the three penthouses on the sixth floor. The developer quotes roomy dimensions: living rooms up to about 24 by 20 ft, dining rooms of roughly 18 by 15 ft and primary bedrooms up to 20 by 18 ft. Listings active in late October 2026 ran from one-bedrooms of 849 sq ft to two-bedrooms of about 963 to 1,288 sq ft. The developer's finish list includes:

  • Engineered or wide-plank hardwood floors and oversized windows
  • Linear electric fireplaces
  • Quartz counters, some with waterfall edges, stainless steel appliances and soft-close custom oak cabinetry
  • Ensuites with heated tile floors, frameless glass showers and deep soaking tubs, plus walk-in closets
  • Oversized balconies with deck pavers, a water connection and electrical outlets

MLS listings describe heat pump heating with air conditioning. The developer also promotes ocean, farmland and mountain views from select homes, so ask which plans actually have them.

Living in Saanichton, Central Saanich

Saanichton is one of the villages of Central Saanich, a municipality of more than 17,000 people in the middle of the Saanich Peninsula that the District says has the region's highest concentration of farming. The developer points to local spots such as the Prairie Inn Neighbourhood Pub, Fraser Orr's Butcher and Deli and Fresh Cup Roastery Cafe, and to bigger outings such as Butchart Gardens and the trails of John Dean Provincial Park.

The municipal hall at 1903 Mount Newton Cross Road shares Cento's street, and its future matters here. The District calls the four-acre property the largest site in Saanichton Village and rezoned it in May 2026 for a mixed-use redevelopment of up to about 400 homes in buildings of no more than five storeys. On October 5, 2026, council referred further decisions to the incoming council, so the timing is open.

Central Saanich's public schools are in the Saanich School District (SD 63); confirm catchments with the district. For more on the area, see our Central Saanich neighbourhood guide.

Buying a New Condo at Cento

Because Cento is being sold by its developer before completion, the purchase works differently from a resale. Under BC's Real Estate Development Marketing Act, the developer must give you a disclosure statement before you sign. You can then cancel by written notice within seven days of the later of two dates: the day the agreement is made, or the day the developer receives your signed receipt for the disclosure statement.

  • Deposits: they must be held in trust in BC by a lawyer, notary or real estate brokerage, unless the developer has authorized deposit insurance that lets them be released to it.
  • Timing: the disclosure statement gives an estimated completion date; read what the agreement says about delays.
  • Assignments: a BC presale contract can be assigned only with the developer's consent, if at all. Each assignment is reported to the Province's Condo and Strata Assignment Integrity Register, and BC's home flipping tax can apply to contracts held less than 730 days.
  • GST: it generally applies to a new home bought from the developer. First-time buyers should check current federal and BC rebates with an advisor.
  • Warranty: BC's 2-5-10 warranty insurance covers two years on labour and materials (with limits), five years on the building envelope and 10 years on the structure.

MLS listing details describe rentals as unrestricted and allow pets, subject to the developer's disclosure. Read the bylaws and the proposed first-year strata budget, which is only an estimate.

Cento Prices and Nearby Options

As of late October 2026 there were seven active MLS listings at 7815 Wallace Drive: two one-bedroom homes of 849 sq ft asking $679,900 and $694,900, and five two-bedroom homes of about 963 to 1,288 sq ft asking $769,000 to $1,399,000. These are asking prices that change daily, and GST may apply on top of the price of a new home, so treat them as a snapshot.

Buying New or Nearly New?

Units bought directly from a developer can carry GST and come with the BC 2-5-10 new home warranty, while resales in a newer building transfer the remaining warranty. Before you write an offer, read the strata documents, the depreciation report and the current budget. Our presale and new condo guide covers disclosure statements, assignments and early strata fees.
