Westhills Condos

Langford Lake is the heart of Westhills. It is a genuine recreational lake, warm enough for swimming in summer, stocked for fishing, with a boat launch, a fishing pier and the Ed Nixon Trail circling the shore. The Galloping Goose Regional Trail runs nearby, giving a car-free cycling and walking route across the Westshore and toward downtown. Westhills was planned with its amenities built in. Westhills is a family neighbourhood, and schools are part of the plan. Belmont Secondary School, rebuilt and relocated near Westhills in 2015, serves the area, along with elementary and middle schools in Langford, through the Sooke School District (SD62), which covers the Westshore. Catchments change as the Westshore grows, so confirm the schools for a specific address with the district.
New Construction: What to Check
Much of Westhills is newer, and some homes are brand new. For a new home, confirm whether GST applies and whether it is included, ask for the 2-5-10 home warranty provider and start date, and for an unfinished home, understand the completion date. For a strata townhome or condo, read the bylaws, the budget and the depreciation report, and understand the monthly fee and what it covers.
Getting Around & the Westshore
Westhills is in Langford, on the Westshore, roughly 25 minutes from downtown Victoria outside of rush hour, though the commute can be longer at peak times. It is minutes from the shops, restaurants and recreation of central Langford, and close to the Trans-Canada Highway for trips up-Island. Within the community, the lake, the trails and the amenities reduce how often residents need to drive for everyday needs.
