Most townhomes near Royal Jubilee are new, often in small projects of a few homes on what used to be house lots. Older townhomes and side-by-side duplex strata homes come up less often and can be better value per square foot.

Within the 1.5 km circle, any of them is a short trip to the hospital.
A new townhome usually carries GST on the purchase price, and some are sold before completion. BC's new home warranty covers new homes for set periods, but read the disclosure statement and contract carefully, and check completion dates if you are timing a move or the sale of another home. Our guide to presales and new home warranty explains the details.
A townhome can be a good middle step for downsizers, with less upkeep than a house and no shared hallways. But most new townhomes near the hospital put the bedrooms upstairs, so there are stairs every day. If you are planning for the long term, look for a main-floor bedroom, room for a stair lift or a layout that could take one later, or consider 55+ townhomes or a condo with an elevator near the hospital.
