Rural Homes Trade on Land
Houses in Cowichan Station, Glenora, Sahtlam, Westholme and Saltair often sit on an acre or more with wells, septic systems and outbuildings. Their value rests on the land, so price per square foot of living area says little about them.
Lake and Island Homes
Houses in Youbou, Honeymoon Bay and on Thetis Island include seasonal cabins as well as year-round homes, and water frontage or views can double the price of an otherwise similar house. Few list at once, so these figures move quickly.
Active Listings, Not Sold Prices
These statistics describe current asking prices and days on market, not sold values. Valuing a specific property takes recent comparable sales in the same community and adjustments for that property.
