Demographically, Sidney consists of an older crowd of retirees, many of which are boating enthusiasts.  The pace there is slower and the traffic is more congested, as the older birds meander and hobble around on walkers and canes on the sidewalk, or as those who can still drive sit at stop lights paralized with indecision and fear, or take forever to move along and crawl around turns at a snail's pace.

That aspect of it can be frustrating as you are trying to move around and get your work done, but on the plus side, there is very little crime, not much in the way of road rage, and very few opportunities for confrontation.

Sidney unfortunately is also plagued with NIMBY opposition when it comes to much needed growth and the development of housing, as is typical for areas populated by a senior citizen demographic.  They band together to vote in an anti development mayor and council, leaving those in the lerch who do not already own a home and worsening the housing crisis.

Sidney by the sea is nevertheless a very desirable place to live for many.
