Search condos, townhomes and manufactured homes around Langford Lake where cats and dogs are allowed, steps from the Ed Nixon Trail and the lakeside boardwalks.
Langford Lake pet-friendly condos and townhomes are easy to find: in late October 2026, 25 of the strata homes and manufactured homes listed around the lake reported that cats or dogs were allowed, from about $390,000 for a new one-bedroom condo to around $1 million for a large townhome.
With the Ed Nixon Trail and the lakeside boardwalks close by, this is one of the better places in Langford to live with a dog. The Langford Lake pet-friendly market report tracks just these listings.
Most new strata homes around the lake report that cats or dogs are permitted.
The 4.5 km Ed Nixon Trail along the lakeshore is a ready-made dog walk.
Bylaws often limit the number, size or type of pets, so read them first.
Dogs are not allowed on Langford beaches from mid-June to mid-September.
Pet-friendly listings around Langford Lake include new condos on Leigh Road and Goldstream Avenue, townhomes in the newer complexes around the lake, and manufactured homes in parks such as the one on Spencer Road. Because most of the strata housing here is new, and many developers set pet-friendly bylaws from the start, a large share of homes allow at least one dog or cat.
Pet friendly can mean many things. A strata corporation can set its own bylaws on how many pets you may keep, their size or breed, whether they must be leashed in common areas, and whether you need to register them. Where a strata has not passed its own pet bylaw, BC's Standard Bylaws generally allow one dog or one cat, or a small number of caged animals or small mammals. Ask for the current bylaws and any rules approved but not yet registered, and look at recent minutes for complaints or proposed changes.
Under BC's Strata Property Act, a pet that is already living with an owner when a new bylaw restricting pets is passed is generally allowed to stay, though the new rule can apply to future pets. Your Realtor and lawyer can help confirm how a particular bylaw affects your plans.
For manufactured homes in a park, the park rules matter as well as any strata or co-op bylaws, and some parks are also age-restricted. Ask for the park rules, the pad rent and how pets are handled before you buy.
The Ed Nixon Trail follows the lakeshore for about 4.5 kilometres out and back to Scout Point, with boardwalks and lake views, and it is a natural daily walk for anyone living around the lake. The Galloping Goose and the trails of Westhills are close by too. Note that Langford prohibits dogs on its beaches from June 15 to September 15, so summer swims at Scout Point are for people only.
When you view a home, look at the things that make life with a pet easier: a ground-level entry or elevator, a patio or yard, flooring that stands up to claws, and nearby green space. In a condo, think about how far it is from your door to the outside, and in a townhome, whether the yard is fenced or fenceable under the bylaws.
